Dr. Gordon Wallace

Dr. Gordon Wallace sat upon his throne gazing out the observation window of his air ship flying high above Sydney. He had friends down there, good friends, friends whose presence he missed but he had his work to do so seeing them again would have to wait. His throne rotated and it walked back to his work desk where the gun he was tinkering with was waiting. Those friends of his had dubbed him Steampunk Gordo, an apt name, for he was a master of technology both Victorian and advanced all at once. His throne was an example of such technology running on clockwork and steam its eight legs got him where ever he needed to be. Sitting at his desk he pressed a button on his throne and mechanical arms sprang out from the back of the desk equipped with a vast array of devices designed for working with his inventions. He brought down the magnifying glass attached to his goggles and taking hold of two of the arms began his work.

He worked for hours on it butt such was the way of his work, hours upon hours of quiet meticulous work. The airship was built to ensure his work remained uninterrupted in such times. Isolation meant he could work at his best but it also meant he was somewhat deficient to more social matters. At that thought he looked up from his work to the tophat that sat on a rack not too far away. He let go of the arms, stood up, walked over to the hat and picked it up. Examining he noticed that a fine layer  of dust had started to build up, had it been that long since he last made contact with the outside world? He doffed it gently to knock the dust off and placed it on his head, maybe it was time he saw those friends of his again.
