She held the staff in both hands then said, “really,” with a smile. With an overhead swing she swung it straight down at the anvil. It hit the anvil then bounced back and smacked her right on the forehead. Knocking her straight into unconsciousness.
They all burst into laughter even Luke for a few seconds until he realized she was unconscious. He went to her side and pulling out a small vile of liquid popped it open and put it under nose.
She inhaled the smell and then again more harshly. She knocked the vial away from her nose then said as she rubbed her head, “owww”
She started to sit up, “easy, easy” said Luke helping her
“That really hurt,” she said still rubbing her sore hear
“It’s unbreakable dear not you,” stated V still smiling
“So I found out,” she replied cradling her head
“Well come on we need to get you a bed so we can rest,” Luke said helping Sara up
“I have thing’s to discuss with V. So if I don’t see you again good bye,” said Jones
“Fair enough are you coming Alaria?” he asked her as he grabbed one of the blood syringes and they headed for the door
“Oh good it’ll save me from stalking you,” said the girl with a smirk
With that they headed out the door towards the council outpost. The walk was uneventful after that afternoon’s performance by Sara and the appearance of the Black Coach most people were staying in doors and out of sight.

When they finally reached the Council Outpost they were dead tired so Luke showed the girls their bedrooms but before leaving Sara he said, “you’re free to sleep in I’ll deliver the syringe to Joel by myself. So I’ll see you tomorrow afternoon” then he gave her a quick peck on the cheek and went off to his room.
After trying for well over an hour to get to sleep he gave up. He just couldn’t get used to the idea of sleeping in a game. So he got up put on his robe and went back outside. He had something on his mind and it needed explaining.

His walk took him to an older part of the city the Orc district before they had been wiped out when the villagers attempted to run them out of town. The villagers failed and the Orcs got to feast on man flesh for a week until the military came and exterminated them. Shortly after the plague struck the city so the Orcs didn’t go back they just sat back and laughed at the “stopid ommies”
He went to the abandoned Orc embassy and knocked on the door. No answer.
He whispered a spell and with a bolt of lightning the door went flying. As he stepped through the smoking remains a woman in a white robe similar to the one the other healer wore but with a green trim ran up to him and said, “Who are you?”
“I had a feeling you were still healing illegally here. Mind you I thought the smell of the Orcs would have driven you away,” said Luke brushing the ash off his robe
“Ah Luke the Blue good to see you, I could use your help” said the woman and she ran over to a mat and started chanting over a still body
Luke asked “What no hello?”
She kept on chanting until the body took a gasp of air, “I am sorry Luke but I am very busy”
“As usual,” said Luke, “you know that’s why we broke up”
“No we broke up because we couldn’t connect emotionally outside of the game and neither of us could have that,” she answered and she started chanting over another still body
The body started to shake and Luke incanted a paralysing spell to keep it still. She finished the healing and she got up, “thank you but I’m sure catching up wasn’t your reason for coming here you are an Arch Mage after all”
“And you’re a Priestess what’s your point?”
“My point is that you never merely drop by let alone in secret,” she answered with a smile. Luke looked at the smoking remains of the door, “comparatively” she added
He smiled “Yeah you’re right Julia as usual. I have a few questions for you, do you mind?”
“Not at all as long as you’re helpful,” she said as she went over to a dying man and started praying
As the man started to shake Luke paralysed him so Julia could finish her work. When she was done Luke asked, “Why are you the only Priestess of Elvita here?”
“Because it was my turn the other two had been at it for days and they needed a break” she said
“That’s not what I meant,” Luke said as he paralysed another patient
The Priestess drew back her hood revealing her clear blue eyes and pointed ears, “That is a matter of Elven society Luke. It is none of your business”
“Of course it is curing this plague is taking the Alchemists away from more important work,” stated Luke
“Like blowing up mountains?” she said as she finished healing another man
“Well no, just other stuff,” stated Luke embarrassed at the mentioning of that incident. He thought she hadn’t heard about it.
“Oh please of course I heard about it,” she said reading his mind
“That was the other reason we broke up,” said Luke
She smiled, “what because you couldn’t keep secrets from me?”
“Something like that,” he replied nervously. She was right of course.
“Of course I’m right,” she said with a wider smile
“You’re changing the subject,” Luke said
“So you noticed,” she said with a sigh
“So what’s the deal?” he asked
She replied, “We have been told in not so many words to stay out of it”
“Anything else?” he asked
“I’m sorry Luke but that’s all I’ll say but you could probably imagine who’s pulling the strings”
“Yeah the ‘other’ Healers,” he said with a scowl
She healed another person this time a boy of about eight years old, “we have never doubted their greed”
“You have to tell me why you’re only keeping them alive. Why aren’t you healing them completely?” he asked as he watched the boy’s face contort with pain
“Because in order to save everyone we must keep them alive, if we use our power to completely heal them we would not have the power to keep others alive. It’s bad enough that we can’t save the others behind the quarantine field but we will not let those who come to us die. Even if it means putting them through more pain,” she said almost in tears
Luke cast a sleeping spell on the boy, “now that must be torture”
“Well it wouldn’t be so bad but since the quarantine no one else can enter without very special permission,” she said
“I got in ok,” said Luke with a smile
“Well yes but that’s you. You could probably destroy this town if you wanted to” she said unnerved
“Well yes but I doubt that changes anything I probably won’t be able to do it again,” he said like the power to destroy a city was nothing.
“Yes but you could probably just teleport in…” she looked at him with a Cheshire cat grin
He started backing away, “Julia no, they’ll notice”
“Oh I hope they do, besides what do you have to lose you’re already in as much trouble as you can get” she said with a continued smile
“That’s not the point Julia I’m skating on thin ice as it is,” said Luke
“You’re not talking about you’re little meeting this evening are you?” she said smugly
“Among other things,” Luke replied
“You’re not scared are you? This is for the greater good” she said almost pleading
“No I’m not scared,” he said
“It’ll make you look good in front of your girlfriend, Sara isn’t it?” she said conning him
He growled, “Would you stay out of my mind”
“Not until you say yes,” she said then pausing for a moment said, “or should I ask your brother Andrew?”
“Fine, one of these days I’m going to figure out how to keep you out of my head,” said Luke, “but I’m only teleporting ten so pick your best”
“Fair enough that’s all I’ll need, we might even be able to start gaining ground on this plague,” she said smiling, “I might finally be able to get an assistant to help out”
“I’m sure that’d help,” he looked around, “well I better get going I need to get some sleep before I get up in the morning. See you later Julia”
“Ok see you later Luke and I pray that it’s soon,” she said waving him out of what remained of the door

When Luke got back and was sitting in his bed he couldn’t help but think, “why did they imprison me? Why didn’t they just ban me? They’re up to something that I know”
With that he laid his head down to sleep for the first time in a digital environment and he dreamed for the first time in a digital reality.

His eyes opened to the stinging sensation of the sunlight pouring into his eyes, “time to get up then”
He sat up in his bed and rubbing his eyes saw a glimpse of something. Whispering a spell he shot out a lightning bolt at the half seen shape and then seeing it properly said, “Alaria, what are you doing I could’ve killed you”
“Watching you as I was instructed, you said you would be doing an early morning errand so I decided to watch you sleep so you couldn’t escape me,” she said with a charming smile
“Am I your friend or your prey?” he asked
“A bit of both,” she said the smile widening
“Well fine you can join me just don’t get in my way,” Luke said as he got out of bed and put on his robe
“Where are we going?” asked the girl
“To see Joel,” Luke answered as James popped from the shadows
“Going out Master?” asked the Butler
“Yes James, could you please tell Sara when she wakes up that I’ll be back soon,” asked Luke
“Yes sir,” said the Butler with a bow, “is there anything else I can do for you sir?”
“No that’s all thank you,” said Luke as he went out the door
“Who was that? A slave?” asked Alaria as they walked down the busy streets
“No he’s a butler like a slave only he gets paid well, very well,” Luke replied
“Oh ok. So you must be pretty rich then,” the girl said
“No not that rich his bill is paid by the Council as a whole not by me personally”
The streets were a bustle of activity everyone was more in a hurry then usual and that was saying something considering the circumstances. Luke took in his surroundings as he walked down the streets towards the Alchemist quarter. There were more Night Elves walking around and they seemed to have been going about in force walking amongst everyone else.
“He’s scared,” remarked Luke almost silently
“Wouldn’t you? My master rarely visits cities let alone stops in them” said Alaria
Luke sighed but she was right an appearance of the Dead Dog of War was nothing to take lightly and it was said to be a very grim omen if he stopped in a town. Not only had he stopped but he stepped foot on the roads of the town. Needless to say the locals and officials were very uneasy for good reason.
Luke looked at the girl, “how old are you Alaria?”
“Ten” she answered
“Well, you’re very mature for a ten year old most wouldn’t be able to handle what you’ve gone through,” he said honestly
“Papa always said that just because we are free doesn’t mean we can go soft we have to stay tough because it may not last” she replied
Luke looked at the sky thoughtfully, “how true”
They walked in silence for the rest of the way. There wasn’t more to say Luke had questions but he knew Alaria either couldn’t or wouldn’t answer him but they were still there. Like what did he mean by calling him an ‘other-worlder’ from what Luke knew none of the characters were programmed to know that they weren’t from that world, it was one of many questions he had but he knew at least for now he’d have to save them, there was bigger matters he needed to handle.
When they reached the Alchemist’s camp they were greeted by one of Joel assistants who said that Joel was catching up on some sleep while he waited for the blood samples and had left orders for the blood to be given to him. After being presented the note Luke conceded and handed over the syringe. As Luke walked away, Alaria stared at the assistant for a good few seconds and then with a growl bared her fangs and barked. The assistant almost dropped the syringe but Alaria satisfied with the entertainment followed after Luke.
“You really shouldn’t scare them Alaria they’re only doing there job,” said Luke on there way back to the outpost
She gave him a child like smile, “I know but its fun”
Luke just laughed and they went the rest of the way in silence.

“Morning honey,” said Luke as Alaria poked Sara
She rustled, “five more minutes” and turned over
Alaria looked at Luke mischief on her mind and on her smile, Luke nodded. Alaria slobbered on her finger and then stuck it in her ear.
“EWWWWWWWW!!!” screamed Sara as she literally jumped out of bed. She started pacing up and down the room rubbing her ear repeating, “ew, ew, ew, ew, ew”
“Told you that would work Alaria, it never fails,” Luke said with a smirk
The girl giggled, “You’re right mister I shoulda listened”
Luke smiled it was one of Sara’s pet peeves she hated wet willies, as a lot of us do.
He got up and went over to her; she backed away, “you wish not after that”
Luke laughed “yeah I guess your right”
Sara sat back on the bed. Now wide awake she asked Alaria, “who was that last night?”
“You mean my master?” Alaria replied
Sara nodded
“He is Death made flesh, the son of Death, savior of my kin and my family and the Lord of my homeland the Realm of Darkness. He is the Guardian of the Necronomicon, retainer of the five vampire households, Master trainer of Necromancers and the Dead Dog of War. His name is Lord Maxamillion Rastis Betalon Dark Force Necromancer” said Alaria in almost a single breathe
“In short he has no equal. It’s said that he actually conquered the whole world but got bored with it and just held the Realm of Darkness as his seat of Power. I should also say that his wife Meladea the Lady is a Sorceress and a master of the five rings of magic. Alone they are damn near unstoppable, together. I’ve been told they only used there power together once and only once,” Luke added
“So why was he here?” asked Sara
“Remember that Necromancer I buried? Well it’s customary for the bodies of dead Necromancers to be reclaimed by there master along with all the corpses in there possession. That Necromancer was trained by him so he had to retrieve his body, what for I have no idea but it’s not a thought I want to ponder” Luke replied
“So is he good or evil?” Sara asked
“No idea,” said Luke at the same time Alaria said, “good”
Luke sighed, “The truth is that it depends on who you are. As far as he’s concerned humanity has caused way to much trouble to be worth his effort”
“That’s not true mister. He’s helped humanity plenty of times in the past, he joined up with the Dogs of War for that reason and he saved the world from certain destruction in the Great War. Not to mention that he was instrumental in the purging of the Inquisition from our world” spoke up Alaria at the comment that her master was heartless
“Needless to say people like us are not really privy to that information. All we know for sure is that he is the mightiest Necromancer who has ever lived and that you don’t want to cross him” said Luke
Alaria couldn’t argue with that so she stayed silent.
“So what’s our next move?” asked Sara
Luke smiled, “we have to sneak out of the city and then sneak back in with ten Priestess’s of Elvita”
“What?” she asked
“They’re healers they want to help but they’ve been locked out thanks to the quarantine despite the fact that they’re immune to the plague,” said Luke
Sara smiled, “then the epidemic will be cured?” asked Sara excited at the idea of helping cure a plague
Luke looked at her sternly, “I know that look Sara you’re staying here. I can’t risk your death we don’t know what will happen in our current situation” said Luke not wanting to give away to much information to Alaria about there origins
Sara’s expression shattered and she gave him her best puppy dog look, “please, you can protect me”
“No, don’t give me that look, oh please don’t,” his resistance was starting to wither under her stare, “damn it fine you can come but I’m going to see whether Jones can join us he might be able to give us a hand”
“Yay!” exclaimed Sara in jubilation
“I guess you want to come to Alaria?” said Luke looking at her
“Yes mister I was told to keep an eye on you but don’t worry papa taught me to fight you don’t have to look after me” said the girl as she proceeded to pick of morsel of flesh from her teeth.
Luke laughed, “I suppose I don’t”
“So how do we contact Jones?” Sara asked
“By magic,” Luke stated as he walked over to the desk and sat down. He pulled out a piece of parchment from the desk and then a strange looking pen from his robes and started to write. An odd sparking sound came from the pen as he wrote until he finished and said, “James”
The Butler popped out from the shadows and said, “Master?”
Luke rolled up the parchment and after sealing it passed it to the Butler, “could you please deliver this to Jones the Night Bringer please”
“Certainly master” said the Butler with a bow and then he disappeared back into the shadows.
“How does he do that?” asked Sara
Luke laughed, “He’s a Butler that’s what he does”
Alaria giggled at that, “they are very sneaky miss”
“You rang?” asked a voice from the shadows
“I need your help,” said Luke to the shadows
A shadow stepped out from the wall and became Jones the Night Bringer, “well that’s obvious everyone needs my help but the question is what do you need my help with?”
“I have been asked to sneak ten Priestess’s of Elvita into the city,” answered Luke truthfully
“Excellent you’ve learned your lesson,” said Jones with a smile, “if it concerns the Night Bringers it’s best to tell us in advance. So tell me what makes you think I would help extinguish a plague that is serving us Night Bringers very well?”
“For the same reason the Priestess’s have been locked out, exclusivity. Judging by the extra weight on your belt I’d say your custom order from V was completed. Now that she knows how to make it what going to stop her from making more if she gets more ingredients?” asked Luke stacking the deck in his favour
Jones’s hand fell to his brand new dagger, it hadn’t even been bloodied yet but Luke was right the thought of others owning his dagger was a disturbing thought. “Fine I’m in. I’ll help you sneak your Priestess’s in and out of the city but I want something in return. I know how there healing works I want the concentrated plague that’s left over”
Luke got up and said, “Done deal. Shall we go?”
Jones grinned mercilessly, “yes we go now, try to keep up” with that he leapt out the window closely followed by Alaria
Luke held out his hand to Sara with a smile, “come fly with me”
Sara grabbed it with a smile and they were off following close behind Alaria and Jones. As they flew across the rooftop cityscape Sara was surprised to find that the rooves were teaming with as much life as the streets. It was just a different kind of life, the kind of life that appeared in your peripheral vision only to disappear when you turn to look at it. It didn’t look comfortable either like it was anxious or paranoid.
“Sara if you can see it, don’t look at it. You don’t want to provoke it. It knows it’s trapped and its food supply is running short. It will start attacking people soon and I don’t want you to be the first” Luke said to her not shifting his vision
Sara couldn’t help it so she resolved to close her eyes. “Are we close?” she asked
“Not far,” whispered Jones but somehow the whisper carried. He suddenly stopped at the edge of a rooftop, “in fact here it is,” and jumped down.
Alaria leaped down after him head first as did Luke and Sara. All four of them landed smoothly on the ground and Jones pointed to a glowing green portal. Luke regarded it closely, “how about that a pestilence field. You have a Warlock on your payroll”
Jones shrugged, “not really he’s a mage that specialises in poisons and plagues”
Jones stepped through the portal closely followed by the others. Luke laughed, “so much for the quarantine field”
“So much for safe passage,” said Jones and he disappeared.
They were surrounded by almost a dozen black-green imp-like creatures covered in oozing sores and brown rashes from head to head. They smelled of rotting flesh and sewage. They looked hungry and were eyeing them all closely.
“Damn, pestilence demons,” said and then he turned to Alaria, “remember the third rule of demons”
“Be ever vigilant for the demon can take many forms?” she quoted curiously
“Ok the fifth then,” said Luke correcting himself
“Do not ingest the blood of a demon for it contains the taint of evil,” she quoted, “I understand mister” She then pulled out a blood red scarf and wrapped up the bottom half of her head not leaving a single part of her mouth uncovered.
“Get ready Sara this is the real deal,” said Luke as he readied himself for the attack. Sara cracked her neck and knuckles and then got out her staff.
Alaria was the first to strike, she leapt at three of the demons knocking one to the ground and then slashing open the other two. With her on top of the demon the young girl took great relish in ripping the demon apart with her own hands. The demon screamed and struggled for only moments before she broke open its ribcage and ripped out its heart. With a smile you could see even through her scarf she squashed the heart like a fly.
You the remaining demons saw this and with a screech started to run. “I’ll paralyse them, Jones you take the five on the left and Sara you take the four on the right” said Luke as he cast a spell. A surge of lighting came from the clear sky and struck the demons. They seemed unharmed but then again it seemed like they couldn’t move either.
Jones’s whisper was heard, “done” Five crossbow shots came from no where and each struck one of the demons through the heart. With a splutter of blood the five demons fell to the ground dead.
“My turn,” said Sara and she charged then leapt into the air with her staff ready for an overhead swing. She landed on one of the demons crushing it and swung the staff down at the same time shattering the skulls of the demons that remained.
Jones stepped out from the shadows and kicked one of the demonic corpses, “these are minions, where is there master?”
“Stuck inside,” said Luke sitting down Jones looked at him sternly, “the council captured it in town and had it executed and it’s blood drained to supply the Alchemists for there antidote but it’s soul is stuck inside thanks to the Quarantine and can’t escape. Sara spotted it while we were going across the rooftops”
Jones regarded her carefully, “that’s impressive that suggests that you’re going down the path of…”
“Jones she doesn’t need to hear that yet she can find out for herself,” said Luke interrupting him, “Alaria we need to keep going could please stop playing with those corpses”
“Gao?” said the girl and she stopped batting around one of the demon’s head that she had ripped off, “yes mister”
She stood up and Luke couldn’t help but shake his head with a smile. She was drenched head to toe with demon blood and ichor. He walked over to her and scuffed her blood slicked hair, “Alaria don’t take your scarf off until we get back to town I don’t want to risk you getting blood in your body”
She nodded, “yes mister”
“So where do we go from here?” asked Jones as he finished filling a vial of demon blood.
Luke tilted his head for a moment then pointed east, “that way the priestess’s are already waiting for us”
They headed east until they reached a path that was heading the same way so then stepping onto the path followed it until they reached the forest edge.
Jones turned to Luke, “where are they? I thought you said they were already waiting for us?”
“If I know Priestess’s of Elvita I’d bet they’re here already. They’re just waiting for something?” said Luke scanning the tree-line
“I thought they were waiting for us?” said Sara
Then Luke laughed, “don’t worry great Priestess’s the Night Bringer is with us he will do you no harm”
Then from out of the trees stepped ten women in fine flowing green robes with the hoods well drawn to hide there facial features. One of the women stepped forward she along with the green robe of her sister’s she also wore a necklace made of holly. She drew back her hood, her pale green eyes and pointed ears showing that she was in fact an elf. “For one who sits on the Council of Eight you pick very strange company,” said the Elven High Priestess in common with a thick Elven accent making it sound a bit more melodic then the rough tones you heard in most towns.
Luke looked and Jones and grinned, “we have a deal,” then he turned back to the High Priestess, “I’m here to ‘escort’ you into the city”
“We know,” replied the High Priestess
“Then you know we’re going to receive some opposition?” Luke asked
All ten of Elven Priestess’s nodded including the High Priestess who then said, “We are prepared to fight. This plague has gone on long enough it needs to be stopped”
“Very well High Priestess then I suggest we get going immediately,” said Luke
“We have waited long enough let’s go,” replied the High Priestess and they all started there march back to the town.
They took there time getting back because Jones insisted on the cover of darkness so they could sneak in easier. Although the Priestess’s were against the idea Luke endorsed the idea so they walked to town at a leisurely pace.
It didn’t take to long before Sara had caught up to the High Priestess and said, “Um excuse me”
“Yes young one. How can I help you?” asked the High Priestess
“Sorry if I offend you I’m from out of town but how tell me, how can you cure a plague?” asked Sara
Luke coughed loudly almost choking
The High Priestess just laughed, “You are a young aren’t you. I suppose you come from a place that only proclaims Baylis as god”
Sara gave an awkward little smile, “yeah you could say that”
“Well young one let me explain this to you. Baylis is not the only god in the heavens there are in fact several gods. My sisters and I worship one of those gods, her name is Elvita goddess of nature and creator of the Tree Lords of whom we the elves are descended from. That really doesn’t answer your question though does it? No I suppose not.
“Well I guess the easiest way to explain how we can heal is that all things come from nature regardless of whom or what created it. Thus because of our affinity to nature and our piety to Elvita she gives us certain gifts,” to demonstrate her point the High Priestess gently caressed her necklace of holly and a new berry sprung up, “one of the many gifts the goddess gives us is the ability to heal”
Sara smiled, “Thank you for that”
The High Priestess returned the smile and said, “You are most welcome young one”
Sara caught up to Luke and whispered, “Is she for real?”
“Pretty much it works that’s all I know, I think it’s all a matter of faith really. They believe they can do it therefore they can. It’s just what they were programmed to do” Luke replied
“That’s pretty in-depth programming”
“Tell me about it,” replied Luke. Even the pain seemed real when he was in the game but he always seemed to live when he died. He didn’t know how it worked but really he didn’t care. All he knew was that it worked and that was good enough for him.
“Oh another thing what did Jones mean about the path that I was walking?” Sara asked
“Oh nothing,” he replied, “just Jones yammering on”
The Night Bringer’s ears perked
“I think he heard you,” said Sara with a smirk
“Probably,” said Luke
“I’m going to go check Alaria I’ll be back,” she said as she gave him a quick peck on the cheek
“That does not seem altogether proper for a wizard of your stature to be so friendly with a girl,” said the High Priestess suddenly at his side
“And I don’t think it’s altogether proper for a High Priestess of Elvita to enquire about the relationships of one who sits on the Council of Eight,” replied Luke sternly
“My apologies I seem to have struck a nerve,” there was no apology in her voice
Luke sighed, “Although it’s none of your business she is my girlfriend and I would appreciate it if you didn’t try to ‘convert’ her”
“Her choice of faith is her decision regardless of her relationship with you. Although I doubt she will have any time for faith let alone a boyfriend with the path she will walk down. For her path will lead her inside herself not towards external things” replied the High Priestess prophetically
Luke looked over to where Sara and Alaria were walking the little girl was barely up to her waist but she did try to keep up and she was talking away happily despite the fact she covered head-to-toe in blood. “That wouldn’t be a prophecy about her future would it?” asked Luke only half-interested
“We Sisters of Elvita see many things, many paths. You can never really be sure” she replied, “by the way who is that girl she seems to be covered in blood yet she is not disgusted?”
Luke laughed, “oh that’s just Alaria in all reality she’s probably enjoying it I’ve never seen her so happy before. Although I must admit I have little reference I haven’t know her for a long while”
“She enjoys being covered in blood? What kind of demonic child is she?” said the High Priestess shocked.
Alaria’s giggling and chattering stopped for a moment.
“I guess the blood’s clogging your sense of smell. She’s a Wulfen child, circumstances have placed her in my care but I don’t mind. She’s fun to be around and she can hold her own in a fight” responded Luke
“I must say I have not seen a stranger group of individuals travelling together” said the High Priestess
Luke couldn’t help but laugh at that. It really was a strange group a Night Bringer, a Wulfen child, a human female fighter and himself a Grand Wizard. There was nothing but silence for a while and it gave Luke a chance to think things over. He realized that they should probably head for the Northern Mountains next. The journey wouldn’t take them as long as there journey but there would bound to be stops and detours along the way so he figured the sooner they started the better.
Then there was Alaria the little Wulfen child, he figured that he should probably find her family if she had any left. If his memory served most Wulfen families travelled together and that would mean if her ‘mama’ and ‘papa’ were dead chances are the rest would be as well. A shame really she was too young to be a orphan. Then again if he did help find her family would it matter? According to her she had been ordered to watch him by her master and she would not disobey that order ever even if her own parents had told her to do otherwise.
He would just have to see what happens next because he always had Sara to consider now and he didn’t want to contemplate what would happen to her if they travelled to far north to quickly. Because all things considered she was still a rookie full with questions. He smiled at that he had started out the same way…
His thoughts were interrupted by a whistling arrow going over the trees. Jones disappeared and from that Luke knew what was happening, “Ambush! Everyone take cover!”
Everyone started hitting the ground but Sara. She looked like a dear caught in someone’s headlights and an arrow was heading straight for her…
